THE PRICE OF SILENCE

Nigeria is bleeding,
With blood of citizens,
Watering soil yet bearing no fruits
Like red fade on scarfs
While sun sets on justice.

Nigeria is bleeding,
With blood of citizens,
Hanging from places too far for the high to see
As corruption flourishes in white robes
While justice sleeps in golden chambers

Nigeria is bleeding,
With blood of citizens who only dared to dream,

In the country of weeping,
The truth is buried beneath bureaucracy,
And the price of freedom,
Is paid by unmarked graves.
